Skip Smasher is now putting a face on people search results. It's now the first skiptracing data website to include online people photos with its people search results. Although most other
skiptracing data services seek to connect data points from different data sources, a practice known as data fusion, this is the first time it has been done with people photos.
"Putting a face on data is huge for our customers because it helps ensure they have right-party identification when they go out in the real world, like to find and interview a witness or for
legal service of process," says CEO and founder, Robert Scott, who is also a licensed Private Investigator. "We are now treating online people photos like a critical data piece, just like a
phone number, or email address or other personal identifier."
Here's how it works:
People Search results now include a free "See Photo" button. Skip Smasher customers can click it to start a search to match people photos off of the Internet with search results. The "See Photo"
feature current success rate for matching a photo with a people search record is 26%. "Our earliest attempts at this had a success rate in the 7% range so we've made huge progress and will no doubt
continue to make progress as we fine tune the search engine. For us to successfully and accurately match an online people photo with a piece of data, like a phone number, obviously first requires that
the person actually has an online presence. Of course, many people still do not. As a general rule of thumb, we're seeing way more matches with millennials who are obviously all online. Also, professionals
of any age, is also a strong demographic for us to get photo hits on."
Some of the possible uses of the "See Photo" feature include:
PROCESS SERVING: Enables process servers to have a photo of the party to be served, increasing "right party" contact and service.
PRE-SURVEILLANCE: Enables field investigators to arrive on-location with a photo of the surveillance subject, increasing the chances for a successful surveillance.
WITNESS LOCATES: Enables investigators to locate and contact the right party for witness interviews.
THREAT ASSESSMENT: Provides security personnel with a photo of person's who represent a possible threat to people and organizations.
REPO: Provides field agents with an identifying photo of vehicle owners for door-knocks and stake-outs.
The new "See Photo" feature arises out of a long term project at Skip Smasher to build a search engine that matches investigative search results with online people photos. "We're looking to make our customers
better investigators through better data. This is just one example," says Scott.
